DIY // Homemade Scented Beeswax Candle

When working with beeswax, it's a good idea to have specifically designated kitchen equipment. I  have a double boiler and a spatula that I use only for beeswax projects. Once you have that sorted out, there's no reason why you shouldn't make all sorts of things. These candles are fun to make and lightly scented. Choose your favorite essential oils and blend them together or pick one like lavender to use alone.

Supplies:

  • 2, 1 oz votive cups ( or more depending on how many you want to make)
  • 2 oz beeswax
  • 1 tbls of essential oils ( I used lavender, sweet orange, and rosemary all blended together)
  • candle wick with metal bottom
  • hot glue gun

Directions:

1. Use the hot glue gun and glue the candle wick to the bottom center of the votive candleholder. Allow to cool. Wrap the end of the wick around a bamboo skewer and rest it on top of the votive.

2.Using a double boiler, melt the beeswax slowly over medium heat.

3. Once melted, stir in the essential oils and then carefully pour the hot wax into the prepared candle holders.

4. Allow to set for several hours before using.
