Spicy Serrano & Prickly Pear Fresh Juice

One of the best ways to give yourself an energy boost is to make a vitamin rich freshly pressed juice. It's my go to if I feel a little sickness coming on or I'm just dragging in general. You've probably seen our other juice posts (

here

 and

here

), but we wanted to spice things up a little bit with this recipe. We put this post together as part of the Williams-Sonoma Juice week and if you don't have a juicer you should check out their selections

here

!

We wanted to make this juice a little different and make it a little more unique of one to try as the season changes. Not only do the vitamins give you a kick, the added heat from Serrano chili and fresh ginger along with the zestiness of fresh cilantro will keep you warm when the weather turns cold. Don't worry though, the addition of Prickly Pear and cucumber make this juice very refreshing.

Ingredients:

Serves 2

  • 1.5 prickly pears
  • 1/2 a serrano chili
  • 1/2" knob of fresh ginger
  • 4 gala apples
  • 1 english cucumber
  • 1 small bunch of cilantro
  • 2 carrots (we used yellow carrots but orange ones work too)
  • 1 medium beet
  • 1 lime

Directions:

It's very simple to create a fresh juice if you have the right equipment. We used a

Breville

juicer which removes the pulp but you could also use a high powered blender and keep the pulp.

Simply cut the fruits and vegetables into manageable pieces and send it through the juicer. Serve over ice if you like.

Enjoy and let us know what you think!
