Weekend Cocktails 08 // A Twist on the Winter Ale

Here is a surprising way to drink a beer this weekend. It's not quite a cocktail, but by adding a cinnamon sugar rim to a Winter Ale this will give you the warm and fuzzies, if beer can actually do that.

The Goods

Winter Ale (We used a Trader Joe's Winter Ale that had a hint of cinnamon in it)

Sugar (We used brown sugar and it tasted like a cinnamon bun, but you can use raw sugar instead)

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 pinch of nutmeg

1 shallow dish (large enough for the rim of your beer)

Directions

1. Prepare your glass by putting it in the freezer, if you don't already keep your beer glasses in there.

2. Combine the sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg in the shallow dish.

3. Wet the very rim of your beer glass with water, then place upside down in the shallow dish and spin the rim of the glass in the mixture until you have a nice even coat.

4. Pour Winter Ale into the glass and serve immediately.

You'll be surprised at how delicious. Let us know what you think!
