DIY // Clay Wall Hanging

You all probably know by now that we love wall hangings over here at Goldmine. Here is one that we made from clay that is both delicate and cool. It's very easy to customize as well. You can use any color clay and any color tube.

Supplies:

  • fishing line
  • hardening clay (we used bead making clay but you can use air-dry or the kind that you have to bake)
  • knife
  • parchment paper
  • gold tube or stick
  • scissors

1. Using a small paring knife, cut pieces of clay into triangles. You could use a cookie cutter for this step if you'd like. I used whatever scraps and rolled them into balls. Take a needle and poke a hole through the pieces. Allow to dry or bake according to the directions for the clay.

2. Thread fishing line through the whole and cut the line into various lengths and tie the pieces to your tube or stick. If you are using a tube, you can thread a large piece of line through the tube and tie it for hanging. If you are using a stick, you can just tie the line to either side of the stick.

3. Trim up any pieces of line that are poking out. Hang anywhere and enjoy!
